New design

I know a lot of people liked the shadowed rounded box bu I didn’t. I just made some modifications. Only the CSS file changed. I have to know if you, the one who is reading this, like this design! If you don’t, tell me what I should do to improve it. Thank you very much!

I was inspired by StopDesign’s style.

By the way, ifiz has now support for smileys in comments and entries ;) Use them with moderation :P

Aqua Final.

This is the final version of my aqua desktop. I made the samurize skin to show some stats. The wallpaper is not by me. The visual style is Aqua by Kol. For other informations, go in the Desktops section.

Back to Explorer, aqua-stylized

Hello all! I finally switched my shell back to the classic explorer, because I was tired of LiteStep incapacity of matching every visual style I use. So here is a screen shot of my current desktop. Mac-OS-X-style-addict forever!!!

I haven’t already put it in the Desktops section, so that’s a sneak peak!

Update: I posted a second shot, with a different VS, and some modifications. I expect posting a screenshot with Samurize on the desktop, it looks very great.

Divs, only divs.

If you ever looked at the source of ifiz, you may noticed that I used <dl>’s and <dt> for the menu at the left. Times have changed! I now use only divs to seperate and to present this menu. It’s way more flexible, and I can nest other divs into it, because with dts, I couldn’t. Anyway, I don’t know why I posted this entry, maybe just to inform you of the ifiz’ facts ;)

Enjoy! (did I ever use ‘enjoy’ at the end of an entry?)

Zinx wallpaper

I just created a new wallpaper. Zinx.

I rendered the shape in 3d Studio Max 6 and did the rest in Photoshop 7.

Update: I made a high-res version (1280x1024) due to requests at WinMod.

Enjoy again!

Against Web Standards + Larijol

I know it’s an outdated article, put I had to share that with you. David Emberton is a writer for the APC Mag. In this article, titled “The World Wide Web is not enough”, he explains why he don’t believe in standards. I think he’s completly missing the point. Anyway, I recommend you to read the article, but also read the comments posted by readers, below the article.

The World Wide Web is not enough by David Emberton.

Also, I’m proud to announce you that I made the website of Larijol, the farm of one of my friend. It’s not compliant, I coulnd’t use any PHP.. but the design is simple and I like it.

Liame Client

Since yesterday afternoon, I’ve been working on a PHP email client. It’s called Liame, (notice a link with “email” ?). It’s not a ‘real’ client, it’s more an email sender. Here’s a screenshot:

Strict or Transitional?

The two types of XHTML. I tried to make all page XHTML 1.0 Strict valid, but I was unable. All the pages are Strict valid, expect for those that contain forms. So I coded a simple PHP scripts that change the doctype to “Transitional” if pages are containing forms, because it’s really hard to make a “valid” form.

Talking about forms, a new section has been created! The contact section. You can now send me a message inside the site. Enjoy!

Note for my-self, why am I always saying “Enjoy” after each entry I post… well…

Rounded rectangles

I just modified my rounded rectangle boxes to add them a bit of shadow, with the help of Photoshop and CSS. For this trick, I didn’t take anything from that article on ALA. It’s all graphic based. Also, Nothing for the content changed a lot… exept maybe for the Accessibility page.

Also, if you speak french and you like desktop customization, please go to PersoPC forum because it seems that the forum is not active a lot, these days. The departure of jul, the absence of BruB, and other unknown reasons are forcing me to announce that the forum is still alive!

Titles, accessibility, code cleaning and desktop

The title is self-explaining. The site has now 3 random titles that cycle… err.. randomly. You can now view the Accessibility page which describes some accessibility features of the website. Also, I’m kinda sure you didn’t notice it, but I cleaned the code a bit to make the source more readable, for you, the reader (not the ripper).

Finally, I updated my latest desktop screenshot (with a new Visual Style and a new firefox about dialog, modded by me). So, here it is:

Enjoy!
