101th entry

This entry is the 101th I post on ifiz blog. 101 entries (including the daily picks), and almost 101 comments (if we exclude all those spam comments I got and deleted), which represents in average one comment by entry. I know my entries don’t get 30-40 comments like Dan and Dave ones do. But I’m quite satisfied with the results of this blog: I can experiment things with CSS and XHTML, I’m posting entries from my school, since I don’t have a computer at home. And I’m receiving nice comments from people :-)

So I want to thank all the people who posted comments on my blog entries. Thank you so much! For other “Thanks” go here.

Mac to PC, and vice-versa

Because I study Multimedia stuff, I’m working on an eMac all week long, exept for Programmation class, when we are on PCs. So I’m on Mac OS X all week long, and at home, I’m on my good old PC with Windows XP. Which I’ll use on weekends.

So I sat tonight in front of my computer (the PC, remember) and I boot it (turned it on) up. In a single week working on a Mac, I had forgotten how Windows is slow to boot, Explorer is so slow to start, programs are so slow to open. In few words: it’s slow!

Why do things we do are so simple to do in Mac OS X, and so complex and long to do in Windows, even XP?

I know it didn’t take me a lot of time to get convinced that Mac OS X is more powerful than Windows… Anyone got the same opinion?

P-S: Don’t forget that the GMail invites “contest” is still open! Now with 6 invites to give! But still post your request in the previous entry :-)

Gmail invites

Yeah, I know everyone has a Gmail account, but I have 5 Gmail invites to give away. I may give them for free, if you give me a good reason why I should give you one. I’ll wait to see every offer before giving the 5 ones.

Requests are open!

P.S. - Sim, I got one for you, so 4 invites left :)

I never was nervous like that…

Dammit. Never nervous like I am right now. School starts tomorrow! I don’t know if I’ll be able to post entries from school, because I won’t have a computer at home, only at school. If you didn’t know, I’m studying in Multimedia.

Well… Enjoy this new season and say goodbye to that short summer that is flying away with the nice weather.

Wish me good luck… did I say I was nervous?

I am enjoying digital photography

I must say that I can’t figure out how I could have lived all those years without a digital camera. I know it’s the third post talking about it, but this one won’t be similar as the other ones.

I now have the pleasure to bring my camera everywhere I go, taking pictures of wonderful landscapes or cute friends. It’s so simple to do! I know traditionnal camera are easy to use too. But I’m also enjoying the fact that the beautiful picture appears in the LCD screen at the back of the camera.

I know most of you will say: “Digital cameras where used in 2000! We’re in 2004!”. I know, I know. I don’t know why I wrote that entry . When you’ll read it, I’ll may be at a base-ball game, or sleeping (dreaming about my week off).

Only one week (6 little days) before school… I am sort of excited and frightened of that new type of school (and that new type education) …

I got my ticket for…

Metallica!!! Yes, Metallica! The famous rock band is coming to Quebec City on the 14th of October. Two of my friends got to the Quebec Colisé Pepsi to buy the tickets this morning at 5 am. I’m pretty eager to see the band in action, playing those awesome songs, such as “Master of Puppets”, “Battery” and “Whiskey in the Jar”. I think those three are my favorites ones. Anyway, I’ll have to summarize the show on October 15th :)

To make this entry a little longer, I’ll tell you that I bought some stuff yesterday, such as a Canon PowerShot A75 digital camera. It’s actually what I wanted, a not-too-high-cost camera that would take beautiful pictures, with a certain quality… I hope it will stay a good buy. I also bought the Vans Warped Tour 2004 CD (2 CDs set).
