Your opinion on that green

I’m a bit anxious about the current exomel’s design.

  1. How do you feel about it?
  2. Does it look to “Christmas time”?
  3. What do you think of the new header (if you don’t see it, reload this page)?
  4. What would you do to make it better?
  5. Should I redesign the whole thing?
  6. Which sites should I look at to get some inspiration?

OK, I know it’s sounds a bit like “I need help!!! I’m unable to see the problem!!!” but that’s almost my point. So, your opinion, and your suggestions.

Major Update

I tried to remove some green… so reload/refresh this page and see the changes. More pink, less green. And white text in the sidebar. And a melon in the footer image :-)

Now, answer to the same questions above, with the tweaking.

I like the layout, but I don’t care for the green/red combo. The header image is cool.

1. I feel there’s too much green overall. Green is a nice colour - I just feel (and this is only a personal preference) that the shades are too close together, especially when you consider that your header image, nav bar and body background are all green.
2. Not especially. Is the nav bar supposed to be snow?
3. I like the header - it’s a cool image, and fits in with the theme and name of your site.
4. Just consider the shades of green.
5. No, it doesn’t need a redesign. Just tweak it a bit.
6. Um, hicksdesign is always good. Binary Bonsai is nice as well, and Mezzoblue is a good example of how to use different shades of colour to great effect.

Hope I didn’t come across too critical - I like your design, just trying to give feedback. Why don’t you come and cast an eye over my latest offering? Criticism welcome :-D

I love the layout Remi. You have inspired me with your site’s design and layout.

There does seem that the green may be a bit too much, and when contrasted with the light “snowish” blue in the right content bar, it does give the feel of Christmas.

Great site though…I’m sure whatever you decide to do will be great.

I think the old header was better. It was more filled than the current one. The left menu and copyright are looking great. You impress me day after day!

well the design is great, maybe a little bit to much green ( even if it’s my favorite color )

just add some more pinks and I think everything will be alright

Yeah, make the existing green a darker, it will bring the content of your site out more.

Wow! The melon theme is defintely coming through a lot stronger - nice use of pips for lists, and the slice at the bottom is a nice touch. The sidebar is also good - all in keeping with the theme.

The tagline is neat - keeping it in French is great for those of us who speak it, and it’s suitably flashy/suave to look good to those who don’t without being confusing.

I like that you’ve tweaked the headerand the menu bar - the colours help to differentiate them.
