The problem is that you'd lose your non-French speaking audience, and if you posted in both languages then your French posts would be seen as translations.

Je ne sais pas, malheureusement

I spoke with some friends who are studying multimedia with me, and we may start a "collective" weblog instead. So that way, I could continue to post entries here, while posting there too.

The thing is, I really want to write in french about web design and development. And I really want to start a big project that I would be proud of :-)

But why you want to traduct and/or post in french when anybody have his high school can understand what you write. Just with the fact you have a weblog in english, your a respected designer.

Take care mf . Continue in english, if i can understand it, maybe anybody else will!

Sometimes, when I write in english, I have some troubles finding a way to say something or how to translate a word. When writing in english, I don't have those problems.

That's why I want to write in french (with othe contributors), to be free to say anything I want -- because there's no language bounds.

I've been thinking about doing a french "collective" weblog for two weeks. I don't think I'll drop the idea.

Well well well...

I'm quite aware of what it can be to manage a weblog in english and french, since that's what I'm doing for a while now. French is my first language, and I won't drop it from my blog for anything - especially audience, since I don't care about how many people visit my blog anyway.

But Rémi, just take note take writing things in both languages takes time, and it's sometimes really annoying when speaking of a real translation. If you don't post the same things in french than in english, then it's probably easier. You'll just have to choose what you want to say to each "community" of visitors.

Then, if you take that road, think twice too : posting on one weblog is something ; posting on two is another, because you'll need to keep those two places alive. It will take time, energy, inspiration, etc. So, the idea of a collective blog sounds interesting, but you'll have to rely on others to post too...

Don't forget that communication with the world is one thing - real work on your skills, developing mastery in a particular area is another. If you choose to start a new blog, the most important thing to consider isn't the language you'll speak on it, but what you'll say daily or weekly to your visitors...

Think, and make the right decision, my friend... ;)

Wow, it's good not to be dead !
