Introducing the evil cherry.™

Call it a relaunch, a redesign, everything you want, but for me, it’s a new start. Fresh WordPress upgrade, 1.5. New color scheme, new style.

I really wanted to use a “dark” color scheme here, and since I got astounished by seeing Michael’s Vader theme on his site, I thought there was a lack of dark color schemes in the blogging community. And for the red/black/white, I got inspired by Shaun Inman.

I tried to not use too many “overused styles“, like those mentionned in my article. No diagonal lines, no Wicked and Worn.

I know there’s still a couple of bugs left, thanks to WordPress not-so-easy upgrade. And there’s also a lot of things that will come, like the code section, a bigger about section, etc.

I hope you’ll enjoy this relaunch as much as I enjoyed creating it ;-)

Updated: there was several updates of the design, such as the navigation-in-two-lines bug, and the hover on the header image.

Joe , me too i see it on 2 line. Do: CTRL+0 to see 100% font size with Firefox.

Very stylish Remi.

My only suggestion would be the hover effect on the header, istead of a “mosaic” filter in photoshop , you could use a brighter to darker transition, just a thought.

And it shows 2 lines here also on the nav. Firefox 1024x768

With Internet Explorer 6, Show 1 line but when mouse over it, the height of the div become bigger.

Ctrl + 0 does nothing.

Lighter to darker/vice versa, is over used. Keep the mouseover you have on the header image, it’s different.

I like everything about this style except the width of the right hand side, it’s too large, imo.

Use an of a cherry, and when the user mouses over it, have the page name show up in an area.

This looks very, very nice. The mouseover header is so funky. Good job!

Oh, and label small::after { content: ' ↓'; }. :)
