I would go for the Mac. This transition to Intel is going to take a while to complete, and I expect software vendors to keep updating their PPC versions for the four years to come, probably more as in most cases it's not very hard to support both architectures.

I heard they are stopping the iPod minis for the new Nanos... Not sure if that affects your decision to buy or not, but figured I would throw it out there. One of the things that I am concerned about when I finally buy a Mac is losing all of my software.

Another problem with the Mac is that I have to use Photoshop, Dreamweaver and other expensive software which are *cough* easier *cough* to buy on a PC than on a Mac ;)

On another note, it's fun to see that John Oxton wrote a blog post about Powerbooks almost at the same time as mine.

You definitely don't need a X600 if you're not gaming. A 64mb card would be plenty.

PC ALL THE WAY!!

OK, now my mind is at:

PC: 30%
Mac: 70%

Now, what would be the best? 12" Powerbook or 14" iBook? Are iBooks so worst than Powerbooks?

Oh, another question: is 12" a little too small?

Well, it seems that everyone forgot this post, so I'm going to tell you here anyway, I'm going for the PC, for various reasons.

I'm gonna buy it on friday, so if you've got last-time arguments to convince me not taking the PC instead of the mac, it's time to tell 'em folks :)

Get a real OS. Buy the mac.
Otherwise you'll have to wait for the release of... well... something approaching Tiger on the PC. And then again, you'll have to pay for it.
